17 Folks Aghast at the War Profiteers
a Iraq for Sale in Boston, MA on November 04 hosting review
Seventeen folks showed up to the screening of Iraq for Sale at encuentro5 in Boston's Chinatown (held on a cold Saturday evening). We had interesting informal discussions after the documentary. Most folks were very positive about the film. One concern is that it makes a good case against the profiteers but seems to imply that many of the current problems in Iraq would not have happened were it not for the war profiteers. Some folks felt that the war itself, whether or not certain folks were scamming the government, is objectionable. This criticism notwithstanding, the documentary is valuable organizing tool.
Questions for the host:
Q: Why did you host this screening? What were your goals?
A: To raise consciousness about the war profiteers; prepare for a future antiwar activity.
Q: Would you do it again for another film?
A: YES
The venue, encuentro5, gets 3 stars
