dutch premiere screening
a Iraq for Sale in Amsterdam, Netherlands on December 05 hosting review
In Amsterdam we have a great place to organise venues, a original space in the old film academy. We had about 30 people attending and also a journalist who wrote a review about the film and about the bravenewtheaters concept. People were really struck by what they saw, so reactions were good. Considering the anti war movement in Holland there werent that many of them coming to the premiere, that was too bad and i dont know why that is really. But we continue so contact us if you feel like it.

Questions for the host:

Q: Why did you host this screening? What were your goals?
A: we want to raise more awareness on the backgrounds of the war and international politics in general. I think that the reason that the people in power get away with what they do is because of ignorance and lack of organisation in the communities. therefore we work with these issues.

Q: Any additional materials you could have used?
A: Usually we invite people who work with organisations to debate the film afterwards. we didnt do it this time, but will do so again in the future.

Q: Any ideas on how you can use "Iraq for Sale" in the future?
A: organise screenings in other dutch cities. Our collective is working on ideas to set up tours with films through the country, so more people get the chance to see these great films.

Q: Any advice for future screening hosts?
A: Spend time on advertising your screening. And invite people..

The venue, OT301, gets 5 stars
