Fabulous turn-out & Surprise Guest!
a Iraq for Sale in Dublin, CA on October 14 hosting review
I counted 72 people, not including me at our screening. Everyone seemed energized by the whole experience. And, there was applause at the end. We had a surprise visit from Jerry McNerney, who is running for Congress against the nefarious Richard Pombo (Arctic drilling advocate & Endangered Species Act assassin). So, we were all thrilled to see him. He spoke after the movie and promised he would always represent us. We did some networking because of the elections, got out some local political announcements, had yummy snacks, engaging conversation, and lots of hugs.

Questions for the host:

Q: Why did you host this screening? What were your goals?
A: To inform people about the truth of this war and to bring people together to hopefully inspire them to take action.

Q: Any additional materials you could have used?
A: Maybe a bigger list of possible actions. Although, I could research and furnish this myself for our area.

Q: Any ideas on how you can use "Iraq for Sale" in the future?
A: I think donating this movie to libraries would be a good thing.

Q: Any advice for future screening hosts?
A: I wish I had put out a guest sign-up sheet and asked where people heard of my movie night showing, since not all my guests came from this site. I wish documentaries had their subtitles on the top of the screen instead of the bottom. People had to move their heads back and forth to see the subtitles. But, that's advice for the movie makers. But, make sure your seating is such that people can read subtitles, if you movie is subtitled.

Q: Would you do it again for another film?
A: YES

The venue, IBEW Hall, gets 5 stars
